The Flame

by the fire

At the outer edge,
smoke.
At the centre,
void.

Even in a bright room
it pulls you
in.

This is a darkness
into which
I want to disappear.

I know this darkness;
I came from it
not so long ago.

    • Well done to you too, Christine! I’m very proud of us both. Thanks so much for being such a great fellow poet. For taking the time to read my poems this month, for all your amazing poems which were an inspiration and encouragement each day, and for all your comments and our discussions back and forth. It made it so much more fun than it already was! 😊
