The Painted Diaries — June (part 2)

This week I’ve been noticing how marks can have quite a powerful effect. I found myself feeling uncomfortable with marks that looked like stitches and then uplifted a day or two later by the triumphant curve of arches. Perhaps it is due to their simplicity, that marks are an undiluted communication of gesture and energy.

Here are the marks in my Painted Diaries from the last 7 days:

These marks make me feel uncomfortable. To me they look like stitching over wounds.


There’s nothing quite like having a good scribble!


Arches inspired by Misty Granade. They evoke in me such a happy triumphant feeling!
