While I enjoy working in a variety of forms, all of my work is rooted in a passion for stories — those we hear and those we tell ourselves about our own lives.
I’ll be talking about what I’m working on, what inspires me, and other interesting stuff about the joys and frustrations of the creative process. I’ll also be exploring what happens when you bring two or more creative forms together. How about cartooning and therapy? Poetry and comics? Storytelling and bookbinding?
In 2011, I completed an MA in Creative Writing at Middlesex University, specialising in Fantasy and Science Fiction. My short fiction has won a prize in the NAWG Open Short Story Competition and been shortlisted in the Exeter Writers Short Story Competition.
My short story, Stones, has been published in The Wild Hunt. You can read and listen to my flash fiction story, A Spoonful of Ash, over at MacGuffin.com – an exciting new “jukebox for literature” created by Comma Press.
My poems have appeared in The Human Genre Project and Irisi Magazine. My first cartoon series, The Everyday Adventures of Mythology Girl (whose eponymous heroine also happens to be a poet) is still available online for your enjoyment! I am also creating a series of handmade story books – unique tales, each created for a single reader.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy having a look around!
